Forest Awakening

Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 10, 2026

This page explains how Forest Awakening handles information. It is written for a small hobby project, so it focuses on the practical data used to run the app.

Who Provides Forest Awakening

Forest Awakening is provided by Martijn van Halen as a hobby project. It is not operated as a large commercial platform, and the service may change as the project evolves.

Information We Collect

If you create an account or sign in, Forest Awakening may process your name or alias, email address, authentication provider information, profile image, and account session details.

If you use investigation, community, or account features, the app may store content you submit, such as messages, prompts, preferences, and related activity needed to provide those features.

The app may also receive technical information such as device, browser, pages visited, timestamps, error logs, and analytics events. If paid features are enabled, Stripe may process payment details, and Forest Awakening may store limited billing metadata such as Stripe customer or subscription identifiers. Forest Awakening does not intentionally store full payment card numbers.

How Information Is Used

Information is used to provide accounts, authentication, investigations, community features, abuse prevention, troubleshooting, security, analytics, and project improvement.

Forest Awakening also uses public or official source material about UAP records and related topics. That source data is separate from account data you provide directly to the app.

Hosting, Analytics, And Cookies

Forest Awakening is hosted on Microsoft Azure. Hosting and infrastructure providers may process server logs, IP-related request metadata, performance data, and security telemetry as part of operating and protecting the service.

Forest Awakening may use Google Analytics and other lightweight analytics tooling to understand traffic, feature usage, and site performance. Those services may use cookies or similar technologies to measure visits and engagement.

Third-Party Services

Forest Awakening may rely on third-party services such as Microsoft Azure for hosting, Google Analytics for usage analytics, Stripe for payment processing, and other services for authentication, AI features, storage, databases, and email. Those services process information under their own terms and privacy policies.

Sharing And Disclosure

Personal information is not sold. Information may be shared with service providers that help run the app, when required by law, to protect the app and its users, or if needed to investigate abuse or security issues.

Retention, Security, And Choices

Information is kept for as long as reasonably needed for the project, account features, security, legal obligations, and backups. Reasonable safeguards are used, but no hobby project or internet service can guarantee perfect security.

You can choose not to create an account or not to submit optional content. For account or privacy questions, contact the project maintainer through the contact channel made available with the project.

Changes

This policy may be updated as Forest Awakening changes. The date above shows when this page was last updated.
